Old Time Family Baseball: Who Watches the Squatchman?
Maybe I’m just a big ole dummy, but before this post over at Uni-watch, I didn’t even know what a squatchee was. Turns out they are those little colored dots that sit at the top of caps or are painted on the top of batting helmets. What a world, right?
Well, tired of the mere representation of…
So goddamned good. Easily the most exciting thing about the Mess this season.
Am glad we’re not facing dude in the super bowl.

I resign as HC of the NYJ
After Super Bowl XXXI there was a mass exodus of the New England coaching staff. Bill Parcells accepted a job with the New York Jets and took most of his assistant coaching staff with him. Bill Belichick was one of these men and served as both assistant head coach and defensive coordinator. Belichick would coach under Parcells for the next two years and in 1999 Parcells stepped down. Once this happened Belichick was automatically elevated to the team’s head coach position. A position that Belichick would hold of only one day.
The following day Belichick wrote the now infamous note and put it on Steve Gutman’s, Jets president, desk. The exact wording of the note read, “I resign as HC of the NYJ.” He then went to press conference which was intended to officially announce his new position and announced his surprise-resignation. Later that month he was announced as the head coach of the New England Patriots.
